I am pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting and selling my work at this event. This is a juried event.

IDEA EXCHANGE ART + DESIGN, DESIGN AT RIVERSIDE GALLERY
7 MELVILLE STREET S., CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO
Idea Exchange Art + Design invites artists to exhibit and sell their work at our Printmaker’s Popup on Saturday, May 28, 2016. This bi-annual one-day exhibition and sale features displays, demonstrations and original works by artists representing all areas of printmaking, as well as the new addition of a guest printmaker talk. The event is held at the Idea Exchange, Design at Riverside gallery and printmaking studio, home of the Riverside Print Group. The print sale is open to original fine art prints (relief, intaglio, and planographic prints). The event is free of charge to the public to attend. In addition to the exhibition and sale, visitors are invited to tour the printmaking studio and participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations throughout the day.

Here's a sample of some of the water colour monotype prints which I will be selling at the event. Even when several prints are made from the same plate, no two water colour monotypes are ever the same, with the result that each is a 1/1 print.

Palette Knife Works

I've decided to expand my repertoire of oil painting skills by starting to work with a palette knife. I'm enjoying the process and the results. These paintings are not for sale the current time. They are for my show application portfolio.

PRINT MAKING AGAIN!
Over the last year, I have returned to my print making roots. I bought a press, and now can create my water colour monotypes without having to rent time at a print studio.
Water colour monotypes differ from traditional printing methods in that you don't get a series of prints which all look the same. While you will get multiple images from a particular printing plate, each print created is unique and cannot be duplicated by re-inking the plate.
I have a highly detailed description of the process, but I won't post it here unless someone asks for it. Suffice it to say that this process is a lot of fun and each print is a new adventure since you can never fully predict what will show up when you remove the paper from the printing plate.
Sometimes I draw into my prints to further enhance the images.
Here are some samples of the types of prints I am doing these days.

UPDATE

I have just recently started to repost on this Blog. Getting ready for my show last May, preparing to retire from teaching, and joining in as a host artist for the Dundas Studio Tour all kept me hopping. So, alas, I fell behind on my posts.
My show was a big success, with most of the paintings selling at the opening reception. I am going to post photos of all the pieces from the show so you can see them if you didn't make it.
